Twenty local artists and twenty local floral designers are joining forces in April for a public display of creative talent at the Holliston Public Library. “Art Blooms in Holliston” will feature artworks in textile, sculpture, line and paint from artists from the Holliston Mill, Senior Center, Placentino Elementary School, Adams Middle School and Holliston High School—and others who work independently. Each artwork will be accompanied by a floral interpretation, and the displays will be on all levels of the Holliston Public Library.
Featured artists include David Coviello, Alberta Nudel, Emily Howard, Ginny Hussey, Marie Lucking, Eva Porter, Bob Vesprini, Carol Holly, Lavonne Suwalski, Beth Hoffer, Lynne Caspe, Arlene Chaplin, Shelby Gimblett, Isabel Doonan, Audrey O’Neil, Leah Stevenson, Jamie Canavan, Lina Calhoun, Becky MacDonald...and a special model car by Paul Saulnier.
Floral designs will be submitted by both award-winning and novice designers, all from the Holliston Garden Club, including Cathie Healy, Judy Lyons, Inge Daniels, Julie Pipe, Vicki Harrington, Jill Malcolm, Eileen Muller, Valerie Howes, Carol Meritt, Mary Ellen Harm, Karen Pinkham, Maureen Marshall, Debbie Coviello, Barbara Gentiluomo, Sharon Thornton, Deborah Kingston, Joan White, Joan Butler, Lee Guertin, and Lynne Rahim.
The opening reception is 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2012 in the Gilman Room; the show is free and open to the public during library hours through Saturday, April 14. More information can be obtained by calling Erin Porter at (50) 429-7110.
